Felipe Gracias, M.D.
Felipe Gracias, M.D. has been in practice since 1998. Board certified, Dr. Gracias' clinical practice extends through all areas of general surgery. He has expertise in minimally invasive surgery that has many applications including breast, colon, hernia, appendicitis, endocrine, stomach and esophagus. Dr. Gracias feels that minimally invasive surgery is not just the mastery of advanced techniques and technology but is a personal philosophy that can be applied to many surgical conditions. His outgoing, friendly approach makes him very approachable to patients and their family. He practices medicine with the philosophy that "the more you love your patients, the more you love being a doctor". Dr.Gracias is an alumni and loyal supporter of the University of Notre Dame, where he completed his undergraduate studies prior to completing medical school at the University of Utah and a fellowship in Surgical Intensive Medicine at Michigan State University. In addition, Dr.Gracias completed fellowship training in Surgical Intensive Care Medicine at Michigan State University He is affiliated with Metro South Medical Center (formerly St. Francis, Blue Island) and Palos Community Hospitals.
