Alan M. Roman, M.D.
Alan M. Roman, M.D. is a board certified general surgeon and endoscopist. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and affiliated with MetroSouth Medical Center (formerly St. Francis Hospital) and Advocate Tinley Woods Surgical Center. Coming from the Mayo Clinic and Mayo Foundation in Rochester, MN, he performs abdominal, breast, and laparoscopic procedures, as well as gastroscopies and colonoscopies. He has held, and holds leadership positions in multiple organizations in the community and is a past president of both the Chicago Medical Society and Illinois State Medical Society and is a former chairman of the Department of Surgery at St. Francis Hospital. He has also served on the Hospital's Board of Directors for many years. His patients find him outgoing and high energy. Dr. Roman believes optimal results are obtained when patients actively participate in the decision making process.
