| Pediatrics:
A psychiatrist is a physician
who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of mental,
addictive and emotional disorders, e.g., psychoses, depression, anxiety
disorders, substance abuse disorders, developmental disabilities,
sexual dysfunctions, adjustment reactions, etc. The psychiatrist has
had four years of specialized training after obtaining a medical degree.
He or she is thus able to understand the biological, psychological
and social components of illness and is qualified to order diagnostic
laboratory tests and to prescribe medications, as well as to evaluate
and treat pschological and interpersonal problems. The psychiatrist
is also prepared to intervene with individuals and families who are
copying with stress crises, and other problems of living. |

F. Chen, M.D.
Bai F. Chen, M.D., has practiced pediatrics since 1977. Dr. Chen
is board certified and completed his residency and fellowship at
Michael Reese Medical Center. Dr. Chen is affiliated with St. Francis,
Palos Community and Christ Hospitals. Special interest and training
includes pediatric allergy.

D. Kim, M.D.
Won D. Kim, M.D., has practiced pediatrics since 1982. He completed
his residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center and University
of Illinois Hospital, then his fellowship at University of Illinois
Hospital. Board certified in Pediatrics and Neonatology. Dr. Kim
is affiliated with St. Francis, Palos Community, St. James and South
Suburban Hospitals.

J. Lin, M.D.
Jeffrey J. Lin, M.D., has been practicing pediatrics since 1980.
He completed his residency and fellowship at Mount Carmel Mercy
Hospital, and served an additional fellowship at Ohio State University
Hospital. Board certified, Dr. Lin is affiliated with St. Francis,
Palos Community and Christ Hospitals.

Robert
J. Oliver, M.D.
Robert J. Oliver, M.D., completed his undergraduate work at the
University of Illinois and residency at Southern Illinois University
in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics. He is board eligible in pediatrics
and board certified in internal medicine. Dr. Oliver enjoys taking
care of the entire family and encourages patient’s input in
their care. His practice interests lie in preventive medicine, adolescent
health care and smoking cessation. Dr. Oliver is affiliated with
St. Francis and Palos Community Hospitals.
Ages Seen: Dr. Oliver sees patients of all ages.

Dr. Sylvia Irizarry
Dr. Sylvia Irizarry has been practicing General Pediatrics since 1995. She is board certified and bi-lingual, fluent in both Spanish and English. Dr. Irizarry has both a bachelors and masters degree in Nutrition from New York University. She completed her pre-medical studies at Columbia University in New York while doing research for her masters degree on the relationship between infant obesity and respiratory infections. Dr. Irizarry obtained her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her pediatric residency training at Loyola University Medical Center. In addition to being warm and friendly, Dr. Irizarry’s approach to a patient nad family is informative, supportive, respectful and caring. She believes that it is important to work in partnership with parents in the decision making process. For Dr. Irizarry, it is both a pleasure and an honor to do her best to provide quality care for infants, children and teenagers.
